Why Auto Insurance Quotes Are Cheaper Online

Have you ever thought about searching for cheaper car insurance? The thing is, you probably won’t be able to hunt down anything that will be able to better the rates that are currently available online. That means in order to get the best pricing, you will need to consider getting auto insurance on the Internet. So why is buying car insurance cheaper on the web?

There are many reasons why car insurance costs are reduced online. Here are three main reasons:

1) Auto insurance providers find that the costs of doing business is lower when drivers apply for motor insurance online. For example, if a potential customer rings to make a quote request, a service rep will need to be on hand to handle the enquiries. And at any time, a service representitive can only see to a single call. So in order to increase the volume of outgoing quotations, which eventually leads to growth in revenues, car insurance suppliers will have to expand their call centers. That leads to increased business costs as call centers are not cheap to staff.

Nor are they simple to manage. To avoid these costs and business challenges, a number of auto insurance providers have been actively seeking to deal with quotes online. This method is definately more economical. It is also more streamlined and convenient for both the auto insurance suppliers and the drivers. And as a result, drivers stand to benefit from the reduced costs as the prices of auto insurance are kept lower.

2) Because of to the transparent nature of the web, comparative prices offered by the popular car insurance suppliers are quickly available. With a few simple clicks, and by providing some basic information, anyone can get instant access to auto insurance quotes. This allows drivers to compare prices before committing to a buying decision. Of course, as expected, most will select to buy from the car insurance supplier that can offer the lowest price.

3) Prices are greatly reduced by discounts and promotions. As the motor insurance industry is masively competitive (this is even further amplified by the Internet), many car insurance providers need to resort to offering steep reductions and attractive promotions. As they hope to entice new customers, and to encourage renewals. So, if you are a first time customer, always enquire if there is any reductions for first time buyers. If you happen to be an existing customer, check with the company to see if there are any loyalty reward discounts available. Usually, the amount of loyalty reductions depends on the number of years a driver has been with the insurance provider. The car insurance contract will sometimes be much cheaper if a driver has been renewing with the same company for a number of years.

To recap, you should easily be able to find lower cost auto insurance when you purchase online due to reduced business costs, accessibility to offers for comparison, and competition between the insurance companies for your business. So the first stop to get lower cost motor insurance is to visit a free auto insurance quotes website and see what’s on offer.

Wise Ways To Save On Car Insurance

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

When you purchase a new motor vehicle, you will normally be worrying about how much you will be paying for it every month. Unfortunately there are many other costs to bear when you have a car. These could be petrol, security and naturally, the most important of all – the car insurance. A lot of people will take whatever affordable security precautions they have available, and there are people who are not above traveling a few extra kilometers to buy cheaper petrol.

This kind of mindset should also apply to your car insurance as you are going to be parting with your money. It is not wise to settle for the first quote that you are given, as there are so many options for you to choose from. There are many different types of car insurance cover to choose from, depending on how much you have to spend.

Minimum coverage is normally the cheapest kind of insurance available. This cover will only protect the car that you are driving should you have an accident. This means if you are at fault for the accident, and if any other vehicles are involved, you will be responsible to pay.

Combination offers are when your life, home and car insurance policies are combined into one package. This package is normally a good idea as you will get a better deal for your money. It is important that you make sure it is worth your while to have all your policies under one company.

Another intelligent way to save money on your car insurance is to compile a collection of new quotes each year. There may be new insurance companies on the market that have appeared since you signed up with your company. You may find a better deal for the same amount of money you are already paying monthly. You may also notice that some car insurance companies have lowered their packages to beat their competition.

Always remember that there are many things you cannot change about the effect on your premium. Your age and accident history cannot be controlled or changed, but you can protect your car against theft as much as possible, which will drastically lower your premium.

The Main Types of Small Business Health Insurance Plans

Sunday, May 10th, 2009

People that work for small businesses or non-profits are regularly given multiple medical coverage choices by the company they work for. The insurance covers pretty much everything, ranging from visits to the physician to prescriptions to hospital visits, and more.

To assist small businesses decide on which type of small business health insurance coverage fits best with the budget of their company, as well as the needs of their employees, the following is information relating to the various types of plans on the market.

Indemnity plans – This type of health plans usually include a deductible. The provider of insurance will begin to pay the benefits after the deductible has been met. After the covered expenses go beyond the deductible amount, medical bills are generally paid as a fraction of the actual expenditures, which is usually 80%. These plans typically offer the best flexibility when it comes to choosing where to get medical care.

Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) plans – These main self employed health insurance plans usually allows the insured individual to decide on a PCP (Primary Care Physician) from a network of providers. The primary care physician is the one that handles the medical treatment of the covered individual. If the covered person requires treatment from a provider not in the network, they usually need to get a referral from their PCP.

The person insured should receive treatment from a doctor in the network in order to get paid by the HMO.

PPO, or Preferred Provider Organization plan – This plan is characterized by the insurance company making an agreement with chosen doctors and medical facilities to provide treatment at discounted prices. As a member of a PPO, you can get medical treatment from a facility or doctor outside of your network, but you are most likely to have a co-payment or larger deductible amount.

Point of Service (POS) plan – This coverage gives a combination of HMO and PPO, only this one is more flexible than HMO plans, but does need you to pick a primary care physician. Similar to PPO, you can receive medical attention from a hospital or physician outside of your network, but you need to pay more of what the actual cost is. However, if your primary doctor gives you a referral, POS will pay the cost.

Mobile Phone Insurance – What is Essential?

Friday, May 8th, 2009

When you buy mobile phone insurance you need to make sure that certain vital elements are included and covered. Here are your 3 absolute essentials…

Mobile phone loss:

1.6 MILLION mobile phones are lost every year - probably far more…

Why more? Because many insurance policies do not cover loss, so often people with those policies commit insurance fraud by claiming the phone was stolen in order to get a new phone from their insurance company. This means phone crime figures go up and mobile loss figures go down.

Mobile phone accidental damage is not covered by a number of insurance policies. There are some providers who do include it in their plans, but many don’t. Make sure you include this.

If you drop your phone accidentally, and the screen is shattered, it is not covered by the manufacturers waranty. The warranty is what covers you for things just stopping working - not damage.

So you need to make sure that with your mobile phone insurance you are covered for accidental damage especially if you are one of the 1000’s of people who do not carry their phone around in a leather case to protect it. One tumble from your pocket or bag, down to the ground can be enough to shatter the LCD display screen.

Leather cases are a good option. There are also neoprene wetsuit material cases which work well. You can find out at any local phone shop.

Your mobile phone will probably take some knocks whether you have a case or not. It happens, its life. But you don’t need to have to pay for it when it happens. Make sure your phone insurance has accidental damage cover.

-> Water Damage

Part of the 'Accidental damage' group, water damage is a massive killer of phones.

Ove 1.2 MILLION phones are killed by water every year – whether down the toilet, in a beer, in a puddle, in a lake… And so on and so on.

And the annoying thing is that there are many phone insurance policies that specifically exclude (ie do not cover) water damage. Put water damage on your list of must-haves in your phone insurance list.

Phone Theft

1.3 MILLION mobile phones are stolen every year according to extensive research by Continental Research. According to Halifax research this figure is over 2 MILLION.

Mobile phone theft costs UK £390 million a year

* One mobile phone stolen every 12 seconds

* Over 2 million mobile phones are stolen every year

So you need cover against:

  1. Loss
  2. Accidental damage – including water damage
  3. Theft

So make sure you get your self covered with all these vital elements within your mobile phone insurance

Georgia Automotive Insurance Options

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

Q: In Georgia, if the at fault driver in my auto accident case does not have insurance, is there anything I can do?

A: This is a question my firm gets a lot. The fact is that all drivers are required under Georgia law to maintain liability insurance coverage. And does that happen?  Absolutely not. The reality is not all drivers have any insurance on their vehicles. As a driver in Georgia, it would be beneficial to attempt to protect yourself from uninsured drivers.

And how do you do that? Well, there are a number of possibilities but the most commonplace is to select the underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage on your indemnity policy. This insurance offers you coverage if you are not at fault and the at-fault party either does not have coverage, or does not have enough coverage.

At this time the minimum limits of insurance coverage is $25,000/$50,000. The consequences are that should you select the minimum insurance coverage it will pay out no more than $25,000.00 per person and no more than $50,000.00 per accident no matter how many people may be affected.

If you have underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage and are ever involved in a a motoring accident it is recommended that you inform your insurance company immediately.

While currently as of the date of this post, you may have a two year statute of limitation of bringing a claim against another driver that may not apply to your own insurance due to the contract for coverage. In most insurance policies, notice is required within days of a collision. And the insurance carriers are very strict with this limitation. If no notice is provided to the insurance pursuant to your policy the insurance company can and will deny you coverage. If you have any questions it is best to put them on notice and set up a claim.

Another situation to be concerned with is the large number of collisions where there is either no insurance or not enough insurance.  So, to make sure your family is protected look into underinsured/uninsured motorist coverage so you will not find yourself staring at large repair bills or hospital bills because you didn’t have enough coverage.

Is There Really Cheap Car Insurance

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Almost everybody has viewed the television advertisements of the talking reptile that promises to save you money if you apply for their cheap car insurance. Nonetheless, is the cash-saving lizard genuine, or is it another slick advertising gimmick put on by the glib admen of Madison Ave?

Since the advent of free quotes online a few years ago, Insurance websites popped up virtually overnight to get in on the action in an effort to exalt their brand of cheap car insurance. The insurance companies follow through with this by comparing their rates in contrast to other providers and implore you to buy their cheap car insurance.

However, is it possible for every car insurance company to actually be the cheapest? Yet, at least one company has to be more costly, otherwise, all prices would be the same. So, how does the cheap car insurance phenomena actually work?

The number-crunching insurance providers use analytical figures in order to decide a cheap car insurance premium that is appropriate for a certain class of driver, furthermore, every provider has their own set of ‘rules’ for certain types of drivers. The insurance companies are aware certain drivers are more likely to file a claim than others, and by reason they choose to accept or decline certain classes, they are able to afford to cover other higher-risk classes. Accordingly, this permits some insurers a large variance in the capacity to offer cheap car insurance.

For instance, Company X underwrites 65% of their policies for low risk middle-aged drivers. As a result, the amount of claims filed will be notably low and, they can well-afford to write a portion of high-risk (males 18-25) policies for less than some companies who write only high risk policies. The insurance company will solicit drivers in that high risk demographic to secure their business as a new customer. Although the savings may be slight, in some cases only 5% to 10%, the consumer is glad to get a cheap car insurance rate from a respectable company and the company is glad to have a new customer.

It is improbable an insurance company will disclose their statistics or demography employed for formulating insurance premiums, for that very reason it is important to comparison shop for a cheap car insurance quote. Visiting the website of several insurance companies will eventually produce a suitable and affordable quote. The caveman or lizard may not save you as much as your good neighbor, so be sure you are in good hands by comparing several online companies to get a cheap car insurance quote.

Must have Insurance Products

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Let’s take a look at some insurance policies that every one should have. If you don’t have any of these we ask you to consider investing in them for the happiness of yourself and your family and friends.

Medical Insurance

Your health is a wonderful thing. One bad health condition though can destroy your bank account. The cost of drugs is extremely high. Paying only $50-200 per month is all it usually takes to cover yourself or your whole family.

Most insurance policies include doctor check ups only with a co-pay that is in the $5-35 realm. Getting annual checkups is something everyone should practice. Prescriptions will usually cost you $10-25 average. These are giant savings considering that doctor check up can easily run you in the hundreds. Drugs medicine can be over $150 per medication.

Health Insurance is a must have for yourself and your family.

Life Insurance

Life is good. Your family is doing well. The job is paying all the expenses and leaving some funds in the bank. You have your health. Your just living your days in the best way you ever thought it would be like. A friend suggests you should look into getting a life insurance policy. After pondering it you wonder why would I possibly ever desire to pay for something that is centered around my death. This is like buying a funeral space of land for me.

The fact of the matter is though if you lose your life your loved one is without a major income. (See the Miami Life Insurance web site for more.) They are going to need help paying the expenses. It’s a loving thing to insure that when you can’t be around to provide you have made possible for your family to be cared for.

Depending on the program you can also lend from the policy in emergency circumstances.

These are reasons why you need to consider both health and life insurance. If you do not have these products consider talking to an agent who can help you get them!

The Main Types of Small Business Health Insurance Plans

Monday, May 4th, 2009

Those that work for small businesses or non-profits are regularly given some medical insurance choices by the company owner. These plans covers practically almost everything, from visits to the doctor to prescribed medications to emergency room visits, etc.

Indemnity plans – These main insurance plans generally include a deductible. The provider of insurance will begin to pay the cost of coverage after the deductible has been met. Once the covered expenses go past the deductible amount, benefits are generally paid as a fraction of the actual expenditures, generally around 80%. This type of coverage generally offer the most flexibility in choosing where to get medical care.

HMO (Health Maintenance Organization plans – These main self employed medical insurance plans generally allows the insured person to choose on a Primary Care Physician, or PCP, from a directory of network providers. A PCP is the one that handles the health care of the covered individual. If he/she is in need of special care from any out-of-network provider, they need to get a referral from their primary care physician.

The person insured should obtain treatment from a doctor in the network so as to receive payment from the HMO.

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan – This plan is characterized by the provider making an agreement with specific physicians and medical facilities to offer treatment at reduced prices. As a member of a PPO, you can receive health care from a hospital or doctor outside of your network, but you most likely will have a co-payment or larger deductible amount.

Similar to PPO, you can receive medical attention from a hospital or physician not belonging to the network, but it is going to cost you more. However, if a primary care doctor refers you, POS will pay the cost.
